Currently in production, But Then It Changed tells the true and, at times, unbelievable story of Ethan Russell. The only photographer to shoot album covers for the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Who, Russell captured some of the most iconic and culturally consequential moments of the 20th century. While the title "rock photographer" did not yet exist, this film will explore the extraordinary life of an artist who not only helped create that entirely new genre of photography, but also played an outsized role in the documentation of the moments that defined the personal, cultural, and political identity of multiple generations.
